Maria Ehmer

Maria Ehmer

was born 1982 in Ohlsdorf, Austria. She began to study the violin at the age of 5. From 1996-2000 she studied at the conservatory in Linz. In 2000 she continued her studies at the university for music and dramatic arts in Vienna with Prof. Ernst Kovacic. Since 2005 she studies with Günter Pichler. (Alban Berg Quartet)

She has won prizes at several national and international competitions. (Johannes Brahms internat. Competition) Maria plays regularly as a soloist with several orchestras, like Brucknerorchester Linz, Kammerphilharmonie Warschau, Philharmonia Wien.

Since 2002 she plays the first violin in the Minetti Quartet, with whom she has won several prizes and plays concerts all over the world.

Maria attended masterclasses and workshops, for example with Yehudi Menuhin, Sandor Vegh, Lynn Blakeslee, Benjamin Schmid and Antje Weithaas.
